It has been 2014 for 10 days now, and I am only just now finding the time, the energy and the motivation to sit down, go through my photographs and things. It also doesn't help that today was the first day that I'd taken time to actually get my Photoshop CS5 installed and set up and redownload some actions, and realize with great sadness that I lost over 100+ brushes that I'd had when my computer crashed, but managed to have some decent ones saved over on my Richard (Looking for Group) thumb drive, and have those sitting on my computer for the time being.
I've edited my first photo of the year, and recently added it to my gallery. Once again, I have no premium membership, but with having a bit of extra money every month (thanks to McDonald's canceling their employee insurance and the ACA payment only coming out once a month) I may be able to swing another membership and actually get to keep it and start being a bit more active here.
I have been lax pretty much everywhere as of late thanks to the holiday season and being hit with a bit of melancholy and dealing with various other sources of drama and the like because apparently it is too much to ask for things to be simple and for people to stop acting like uptight asshats. Either way, with this upturn today, I think I might spend sometime with my camera around and snap a few nature pictures and maybe spend sometime in Oak Lawn Cemetery and maybe walk down to the other cemetery that is not too far from the house either and get a few photos for me to edit.
I'm also looking forward to kicking off the year with my first photomanip in quite some time. I will be rusty, it will probably be crappy at first, but I will hopefully be able to share it within the coming weeks after I manage to get the stock images that I want, and get things moving. Either way, it has been too long since I let myself get lost in creating something that is my blood, sweat and tears and I need to get back to that in this new year.
I am also working on catching up on my project for my book review blog (I intend on writing a review a day for the entire year, it does not mean that I will read 365 books this year, mainly because I have a backlog of books that need reviews). So, there will be reviews coming for that, as well as getting things sorted for my feature diaries over at DailyKos which go up on Sundays and Wednesdays.
So all in all, things will hopefully be very, very productive for me art wise and I am greatly looking forward to getting back into the swing of things here at dA, where I've come to find that this community is one of my favorite to be a part of.
